A Crack-berry Headache

Technology can sometimes be the most frustrating thing in the world, especially when you need it most. Today was a day full of phone problems among cell phone problems. To be specific, I have never been so pissed off at my phone due to problems with my Blackberry aka "Crack-berry". First off, my cell phone after being charged all night, decides to shut down into a freeze mode—containing a white screen labeled: error. However, Blackberry was kind enough to include a reset button on that screen.... eh thanks a lot.

The worst part of the whole dilemma is that once the battery is fully charged, the stupid, unreliable battery, lasts only a lousy twenty minuets. I usually am fairly patient with most people and things. Nevertheless, my phone never seems to ever work perfectly after the first month after purchase. Why is this? Is it the phone company’s problem or mine? I have gone through dozens of phones, but not one of them has ever amazed me regarding its performance. I have been fortunate enough to have many necessary phone updates throughout the years; yet, those phones always go bad after a while too. Sometimes I get so angry I probably damage the phone even more by hitting it, throwing it on the ground and so forth. Honestly, cell phones have to be the most “beaten up” technological device that has ever existed. They are with a person wherever he or she goes. It is now the most common use of communication besides the Internet. Then again, cell phones today mostly have Internet, messaging, GPS and other cell phone applications.

It amazes me to see the transformation of when I had my Nokia cell phone with the original “SNAKE” game on it. In fact, that very phone was my most reliable phone I have ever owned—my very first cell phone. This cell phone was one of the best-displayed phones concerning marketing strategies. It had so many add-on accessories it was mind-boggling. From faceplates covers to bright neon flashing lights that lit up the phone, this Nokia cell phone was the phone to have. Today, the advancement of cell phones includes color, memory size, battery, reliability and quality. With the most popular phones being the iPhone and Blackberry.

On my way to the Verizon Wireless store, the traffic on Speedway down to Cray croft road had more jam in it than my Grandma’s homemade jelly. On top of the heavy traffic, my phone was down to its last few minuets of battery life… to say the least things were not going my way. Waiting to get out of traffic, I waited for the lights to turn green. Yet, my luck running thin and I came to many halts due to people not turning on their right signal when turning suddenly and many red lights.

For some reason I was thinking to myself that there wouldn’t be that many people in the Verizon Wireless in the U of A location. Once again, I was wrong. Many frustrated, impatient, and vicious Verizon Wireless customers were attacking the employees working. Running to them for all there cell phone problems with their dysfunction. It is by far the most gruesome and horrid experience. Each time I go, I am always reassured that I hate and truly dread going to this irritating store. A few hours later I was back at my house with my new phone battery. All I could do is wait; my phone + my charger = me back to normal. Or so I thought…
